Keeping casino development on track

Berg Legal acted for a developer which entered a joint venture with Manchester City Council to redevelop a derelict site north of the city centre. A tenant was found for part of the site in the form of Grosvenor Casinos. The development was then forward sold to an investor and the casino subsequently constructed.

The other part was forward sold to a major self-storage company for whom a 100k sq ft facility was constructed under a developer contract and completed in record time.

During the four-year process, Berg advised on everything from the original joint venture agreement to development, sales and the lease. The Berg team co-ordinated all sets of lawyers, including those of the financiers, ensuring everything was in place to keep the whole project on track.
