Three-week deadline for £5.6m deal

When the property investment company Selbourne Group Ltd acquired Mansion House, an office building in Altrincham, Cheshire, for £5.6 million, time was of the essence. The vendor, an institutional investor, wanted to exchange contracts within three weeks – a deadline that could prove difficult for a straightforward residential sale, never mind a multi-tenanted office block.

Berg Legal advised Selbourne. The Berg team checked all the pre-contract information, including the terms of the leases for each of the tenants, and dealt with funders and their lawyers to exchange within the required timescale. The deal was fully completed just three weeks later.
