How Regatta outran the competition

When the Hawkshead clothing chain went into administration, there was strong competition to buy the business. Outdoor clothing group Regatta was one of those in the race and used Berg Legal as its adviser. Speed was of the essence, not only to beat the others but also to ensure an effective rescue.

Working against the clock, the Berg team secured the deal within days. Regatta managing director Keith Black said of the team: “We were hugely impressed with the straightforward approach taken and the superb advice during a frenzied week.” Senior partner Reuben Berg added: “We had to be incredibly efficient to make it to the finishing line before our competitors.”
