Rescuing an ailing brand
When outdoor clothing company Regatta bought the troubled retailer Hawkshead, safeguarding the company’s brands was a key priority.
Hawkshead, established for over 30 years and one of the best-known outdoor brands in the UK, had changed hands several times in the previous years which had caused some problems with its trademark registrations.
Berg’s IP team was charged with restoring lapsed or expired trademarks in multiple jurisdictions, which included a successful eleventh hour rescue. The work, carried out in just two weeks, created a platform for Regatta to rejuvenate the Hawkshead brand and take the business forward to a new level.
