As part of Berg’s 35 year anniversary celebrations we have teamed up with Manchester Business School for an exclusive Finance and Society panel debate.
The event which will be held at
Manchester Business School on 20th May 2015 at 5.45pm – 7.45pm will tackle the subject of alternative finance for SMEs.
The shockwaves of the financial crash are still being felt across the global banking industry and it is important to access whether the UK is in a position to re-shape the sector and lending culture.
The panel will discuss why, despite changes in legislation and policy, current models aren’t fit for purpose. They will also explore how banks and SMEs can take advantage of new products and funding models
which are emerging such as crowd funding and the new generation of cooperative lending.
The panel will consist of Alison Loveday, managing partner at Berg, as well as Ismail Erturk, senior lecturer at Manchester Business School and Vernon Hill, founder and chairman at Metrobank.
