On Wednesday the 19th March, Berg’s very own employment specialist Nigel Crebbin, will be taking part in the annual CIPD Employment Law Review and Update.
It’s set to be a brilliant day with 4 experienced employment law specialists sharing their thoughts and knowledge, and attendees also being invited to take part.
Mr Peter Monaghan, Area Director of Acas North West will be speaking, as will Mr Brian Doyle, current Regional Employment Judge for the North West of England and who it has recently been announced will, from 1st April 2014, be President of the Employment Tribunals
(England and Wales).
Nigel, along with James Hurd, of St James Chambers, will provide a round-up of key employment cases and new employment legislation over the last 12 months, and the implications of these for the workplace. They will also be looking at likely developments in
legislation over the next 12 months.
This is going to be a key update for people working in HR.
Later on Nigel and James invite attendees to participate in an interactive case study looking at a workplace problem involving whistle blowing, dealing with a grievance, conducting a disciplinary process and imposing a penalty and the right to be accompanied
to disciplinary and grievance hearings. This is a vital information session for HR professionals, with tips and guidance on handling the issues the case study presents.
