This weekend saw the berg team use their strength and determination to climb the 3 highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales – Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon in aid of
Francis House Children’s Hospice.
As part of a programme of events to celebrate our 35th Anniversary as the imaginative law firm, the 3 Peaks Challenge lived up to our values of being courageous, enterprising and unafraid to
take on a mighty challenge.
Senior Partner Reuben Berg and Managing Partner Alison Loveday, flanked by a team of 14 intrepid team members began their summit attempts last Friday evening in Scotland at Ben Nevis.
The team climbed through mist and topped out above the cloud level to a stunning snowy summit. Wind-chill was at -10c but it was a perfect first summit for our committed team.
Saturday morning the climb at Scafell Pike began and despite some typical Lakeland drizzle the team pushed onwards and upwards.
The ascent of Snowdon started on Saturday afternoon with the summit reached in a tremendous 2 hours, and back down to a beautiful twilight.
Having survived sleep deprivation, weather, vehicle malfunction, traffic and
more, team members showed great tenacity and perseverance whilst they took on the challenge, keeping in constant mind the worthy cause of
raising funds for berg’s chosen charity Francis House Children’s Hospice.
Founder and Senior Partner, Reuben Berg explains why this is such an important anniversary
for the Firm and why the challenge of the National 3 Peaks reflects the culture of the organisation,
“We have always done things differently. Established in 1980, we were the first firm to successfully litigate against Rolls Royce in 1982. That robust and courageous approach still very much remains at the heart of berg 35 years on, as we continue to win landmark
judgments and challenge vested interests and wrong doing in the banking and financial sectors. I am really proud of the team we have built at berg. Positive thinking is actively encouraged from the most junior people upwards. People are encouraged to adopt
a real world approach in delivering a first class and effective service for our clients. Our business is growing as more and more people value our approach as we are responsive to and properly understand the needs and pressures of modern businesses."
“We are committed to raising a large sum of money for the most worthy cause of the Francis House Children’s Hospice. We offer our sincere appreciation to those whom have already kindly given so generously.
We hope those who have not yet given will show their support by making a donation and thank you in anticipation.”
As our 2015 chosen charity, Francis House provide invaluable care and support for thousands of children and their families. We really appreciate your support and all proceeds will go directly to Francis
House Children’s Hospice, providing care for children with life threatening and life limiting illnesses. Here, all services are free for patients and the largest part of investment comes from donations.
We are extremely proud of our berg colleagues who on top of their hard work and commitment to clients, have given their evenings and weekends to prepare for and complete this challenge for a worthy cause.
