I was delighted to be invited for a second time to speak about life as a litigator at Liverpool John Moores University’s (LJMU) Annual Employability Conference on 20 November 2015. This annual event
was set up by Dr Steven Cairns of LJMU’s Law School. Dr Cairns is a specialist in banking and regulatory law.

The event was a great opportunity for second and third year
and Masters students preparing for a career in law to meet members of the profession. A number of solicitors and barristers practising in the North West of England shared their experiences and helped to prepare students embarking on the application process.

My key focus was on the benefits of practicing dispute resolution and how advocacy is not only a skill for the courtroom.

The event was followed by a drinks reception so that the students had an opportunity to meet the guest lecturers.

I’d like to thank Dr Cairns and the staff at LJMU for their invitation and hospitality.

More from berg

Geraldine, I was pleased that the claim against NatWest from mis-selling a SWAP was successful. I found the process efficient without being time consuming and that berg were persistent in pursuing the claim.
