The Berg Employment Team are co-hosting the CIPD Greater Manchester Branch annual employment law event at the Copthorne Hotel, Salford Quays, Manchester M50 3SN on 6 March 2013.
As well as Nigel Crebbin from Berg, the speakers will be Dr Brian Doyle (Regional Employment Judge), Peter Monaghan (Acting Area Director ACAS North West) and James Hurd (Barrister specialising in employment law).
The event will run from 9.15am to 5pm and will include presentations on:
a round-up of key employment cases and new employment legislation over the last 12 months, looking at their practical implications for the workplace and also looking ahead to the likely developments in employment law over the coming year;
the changes made last year to Employment Tribunal practice and procedure and the further Tribunal changes coming in 2013, including the introduction of fees for Tribunal claims and hearings;
options available to resolve disputes at work, in particular – the involvement of ACAS; and the new early ACAS conciliation process and its impact from next year when all Employment Tribunal cases will need to be lodged with ACAS in the first instance;
an interactive case study session, looking at a workplace problem involving social media misuse, disciplinary proceedings and sickness absence and providing practical tips and guidance as to how best to deal with the issues involved.
The event will provide an unmissable opportunity, at a very reasonable cost to hear key speakers in relation to employment law in the North West and is likely to be extremely well attended.
The prices are as follows:
£125 plus VAT for CIPD members (£150 Inc. VAT)
