This week the Berg Employment team hosted their HR breakfast briefing in conjunction with Towergate as they invited attendees to find out what the latest employment law and auto-enrolment challenges and deadlines are for 2014.

The Berg Briefing – Employer Essentials for 2014 took place at City Tower, Manchester. Nigel Crebbin and Kim Freeman-Smith from the Berg team provided the delegates with an overview of the new legislation which came into force in 2013 (such as Tribunal fees,
employee shareholder contracts and protected settlement agreement conversations) and looked ahead to the 2014 legislation on TUPE, flexible working and ACAS early conciliation. Shelley O’Donnell from Standard Life also spoke about the steps many employers
need to be taking now, as they approach their staging dates for the compulsory introduction of auto-enrolment pensions. Looks like another busy year ahead!
