What is a PSC Register?
Since 6 April 2016 it has been a legal requirement for UK companies (and limited liability partnerships (“LLPs”)) to maintain a “PSC Register” (or a Persons of Significant Control Register).
The idea behind the PSC Register requirement is to make the identities of those who exercise significant control over UK companies and LLPs more immediately apparent and available. Even if you do not believe there are any entries that need to be made to a PSC Register, the register should contain some wording to that effect.
The rules only apply to UK companies and LLPs, and not to foreign entities operating in the UK.
How can Kennedys help with your PSC Register?
Kennedys’ company secretarial services can take away the administrative and time consuming task of creating and filing a PSC Register for your company or LLP.
Once the PSC Register information has been prepared, it must be filed with Companies House upon the first Accounting Reference Date of a company or LLP from 30 June 2016. This is in addition to a confirmation statement and other public registers such as the register of directors and register of members. The confirmation statement replaces the previous annual requirement of filing an Annual Return.
As well as taking care of creating a PSC Register for your company or LLP, we can also ensure it is properly filed at Companies House for you too.
We can also help you:
- When you need Company Secretarial services
- When you need new statutory books
- When choosing the right structure for your business
- When you need advice to ensure you are meeting your company director responsibilities
