Geraldine is a Solicitor within the Commercial Dispute team in Manchester.
Geraldine is involved in all aspects of Commercial Litigation with a particular focus on Banking Litigation. She has acted for a number of individuals and companies in disputes with financial institutions, both in respect of regulatory failings and complex court cases relating to breach of contract and/or tort and arguments surrounding misrepresentation. She has acted for a number of clients who successfully settled claims at mediation.
Geraldine has acted for financial institutions in all aspects of debt recovery work including secured and unsecured lending and has also completed a secondment at a global bank.
Geraldine also deals with professional negligence disputes and can assist when clients may need help funding a claim.
Geraldine focuses on the Commercial sphere and represents a number of individuals and businesses both within the SME Market and large multinational companies.
- Acting as part of a Team for the Hockin family in their four-year legal battle against RBS in a £36m claim for mis-selling of interest rate hedging products. Resulted in a settlement on Day 3 of a 6-week trial in the Financial List in London.
- Acting on 3 separate £1m+ claims against Barclays Bank, all of which resulted in settlement prior to trial, for the mis-selling of interest rate hedging products.
- Acting for a Derbyshire-based brewery in their Appeal against a decision by HHJ Moulder in the Manchester Mercantile Court which found in favour of Barclays Bank in respect of the mis-sale of an interest rate hedging product.
- Acting for various individuals and businesses affected by the HBOS Reading Fraud scandal, the GRG Review and all aspects of the IRHP Review and Consequential Losses.
